Horseback Riding

There is a riding stable near the entrance of the Cades Cove loop in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As the horses provide an excellent way to enjoy the cove, you may want to stop there.

2017 Hours

The Cades Cove Riding Stables are open March 4 – November 30, weather permitting. Guided trail rides are conducted on horseback for $30 per person. Carriage rides around Cades Cove run $12 per person and last approximately 30 minutes.

Motorized hay rides are excellent for large groups and cost $12 per person. Hay rides are by reservation only. Park Ranger hay rides run on a Monday – Thursday schedule when available, on a first come first served basis and cost $14 per person. (Call ahead for Ranger-led hay ride availability.)
